INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY Development, Marketing & Public Relations Spring - 2010
Compensation: Unpaid, course credit only Hours Needed: Flexible schedule to accommodate school curriculum Location: Windsor, CT or Norwich, CT
Objective: Reporting to the Director of Marketing and Development, the intern will be responsible for assisting the marketing and event coordinators with managing public and media relations, employee communications, and community relations to enhance the reputation of Easter Seals Greater Hartford Rehabilitation Center, and advocate our mission to rebuild bodies, minds and lives.
Requirements: Must be a junior or senior pursuing a bachelor degree in communications, public relations, marketing or the equivalent. The appropriate candidate will have an interest in not-for-profit business practices, with a strong desire to develop and sustain new and existing relations with local businesses and community leaders. The qualified candidate will also be proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Advanced research skills are preferred and the individual should be knowledgeable about community involvement opportunities. Candidates’ proficient with current social media trends (i.e. facebook and twitter) is a plus. Individual must be willing to use personal vehicle for occasional business purposes and to attend special events on designated weekends.

JOB DEVELOPER
Hours needed: Full-time, 40 hours/weekly
We are currently seeking a JOB DEVELOPER to work with our already established and successful vocational team. The primary responsibility of the position of JOB DEVELOPER is to assist participants in the Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) to procure and maintain competitive employment. Activities will focus on job development, vocational counseling, assessments, and job placement services.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the ability to develop a rapport with both local and regional employers. This position also requires the ability to work as an integral member of a team as well as independently. Qualified candidates are individuals with either a proven track record of success in job development or those who are able to demonstrate potential for meeting the qualifications of the postion. Also, must have own vehicle and a willingness to travel to a variety of sites within the Greater Hartford area.
