Medical Rehabilitation Services

Medical rehabilitation focuses on the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of disabilities to help individuals live with greater independence. The Easter Seals medical team work together to restore function or develop compensatory strategies to improve activity level and lifestyle affected by such conditions as pain, surgery or injury, traumatic brain injury, cerebral vascular accident, or multiple sclerosis.  Easter Seals also promotes quality of life for individuals with disabilities through education and prevention programs.

Brain Injury Program
This program utilizes a multidisciplinary approach of medical professionals including physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech and language pathology, social services, and neuropsychology to formulate a treatment program to maximize a patient's potential for recovery.  Most patients are in the early stages of recovery and benefit from the structure and consistency of a program aimed at meeting individual goals.  The program focuses on management of physical, cognitive, and behavioral problems resulting from head trauma or brain injury.   Individuals are assessed in terms of capacity to resume prior level of functioning (work, school, home) and assisted in achieving goals through various programs in the community.
