The School-To-Work program is a program that operates during the academic year. Training occurs in individual and group work formats to assist students in understanding the meaning, value and demands of work, to modify behavior, and to develop functional capacities.
Program Goals:
Increase productivity and work skills Develop good worker traits Develop independence in the community and work setting Assistance in obtaining vocational success
Program Components:
Onsite training Case management Independent management (e.g., bus training, banking) Community based work experience Vocational testing Career Exploration Situational assessment Food service and custodial evaluations Behavior management PPT attendance and teacher consultation
Admission Criteria:
In order to be admitted to the program the program individuals must:
-Be 16 years of age or older (parental consent is required for anyone below the age of 18) -Have an appropriate referral and an established funding source -Social Security card and picture identification -Manage own self-care -Not have any active substance abuse problems -Not be a danger to self or others
