Overview
Autism affects 1 in 36 children, yet most are not diagnosed until age 4 or older. EarliPoint™, an FDA-authorized tool, helps change that by using advanced screening methods to assess Autism in children as young as 16 to 30 months. Early diagnosis allows for timely intervention, helping children grow, connect, and thrive. Easterseals is proud to be the first and only provider in Connecticut offering this cutting age diagnostic tool.
Using eye-tracking technology on a tablet-based device, EarliPoint™ captures how children engage with social and visual cues. It provides objective data in three keys areas: social disability, verbal ability, and non-verbal learning. EarliPoint™ offers an engaging and efficient way to assess children suspected of autism, giving parents and caregivers with clear answers during the critical early years, when support can make the greatest difference.
The EarliPoint Evaluation Process
The EarliPoint™ assessment is part of a comprehensive evaluation process, which includes:
- An initial intake visit with parents (telehealth or in-office)
- An in-office appointment for the EarliPoint™ evaluation and additional developmental measures
- A feedback session (telehealth or in-office) to review results and discuss next steps
